Biographical/Historical

E. Eugene Baldwin originates from downstate Illinois, the location of many of his plays. A graduate of Northeastern Illinois University, Baldwin’s first play Going Steady (and Other Fables from the Heart) was produced off-Broadway in 1983. His next play Moonlight Daring Us to Go Insane was workshopped in the 1987 Play Expo held jointly by the Body Politic and Victory Gardens Theatres. Moonlight was the first play on the mainstage in Body Politic’s 1987-1988 season and was also the first play chosen for taping by the Special Collections Department for the Chicago Theater Collection.

Scope and Contents
