Biographical/Historical
Hotels, railroads and other tourist services provided travelers with amusement listings and diagrams of popular theaters to assist attendees in securing tickets and planning their trips to Chicago. For example, The Chicago Weekly AmusementGuide markets itself as, “A Weekly Journal containing a synopsis of current happenings at theatres, halls, all places of amusement, gardens, sporting events, matters of recreation, public meetings and celebrations, secret society assemblies, stock exchange, Board of Trade and other subjects of interest to the amusement-seeking public.”
