Scrapbook documenting Mary Zimmerman’s tenure at Marshall High School. Mary Zimmerman (1869-1953) was one of four original faculty members of John Marshall High School, which opened in Chicago’s East Garfield Park neighborhood in 1895. She taught Latin at Marshall High for forty years until her retirement in 1935. Zimmerman also took an interest in The Hebrew University founded in Jerusalem in 1925.
