Celebrate Women’s History Month with CPL

Join Chicago Public Library as we celebrate Women's History Month. This year we celebrate women telling their own stories.

Events

See all our Women's History Month events. Highlights include:

Naming Women to Recover Histories: 11 a.m. Saturday, March 4
Librarians Elizabeth McKinley and Lily Mayfield researched and uncovered full names of women depicted in the Chicago History Museum’s carte de visite photograph collection. Past practices of recording women only by their husbands’ names create significant roadblocks for researchers. They will reflect on the importance of accurate, descriptive catalog records; discuss resources used to identify full names; and share stories of women whose names were recovered.

Vinyasa Flow with YoSoul Yoga: 10 a.m. Saturdays, March 4 and 25
Be ready to enter a practice that will comfort the mind, relax the body and enlighten the spirit with certified yoga instructor Yolander Rivers.
