Chicago Public Library offers resources to help you file your income taxes.
This year there is only one 1040 form for individual income tax filing, no 1040A or 1040EZ. We expect these forms, which are packaged in booklets including Schedules 1-6, to be available at many CPL locations, but the IRS no longer distributes the Publications, other Schedules or Miscellaneous Forms.
Unlike the IRS, the State offers its own account management program, My Tax Illinois, where taxpayers can file returns, make payments and manage their tax accounts.
Free tax help for qualified families and individuals is available.
Tax Prep Chicago connects Chicagoans with tax-filing assistance programs throughout the city.
