Great news — you may now place a hold on more items and check out more titles on hoopla and OverDrive with your Chicago Public Library card. Starting January 2022, place a hold on up to 12 physical items, as well as up to 12 OverDrive titles (and check out up to 15 titles) and check out up to eight hoopla titles.

Physical items
You may now place a hold on up to 12 physical items. The hold limit for physical items applies to "not ready" or "paused" holds, and includes interlibrary loan requests. Holds that are "in transit" or "ready for pickup" do not count toward this limit.
OverDrive
Place a hold on up to 12 OverDrive eBooks, downloadable audiobooks and streaming videos. You can now also check out up to 15 titles at a time.
hoopla
Check out up to eight hoopla titles every calendar month. All hoopla titles are available immediately, no holds required.
