Pretty Pretty Wedding Pictures

Rule No. 1 for planning a wedding: Elope.

Rule No. 2 for planning a wedding: You already failed the first rule so you’re on your own.

I wish someone told me beforehand how incredibly difficult planning a wedding would be. Guests, flowers, lighting (lighting?), cake, colors, shoes, photos, arches and floating candles are now a  part of my everyday vocabulary for the next 10 months.

The only redeeming part of this whole process has been picture leering, and I do mean leering. I  have seen wedding photos of couples I will never meet in person from all over the world. I feel  like we are all enrolled in a wedding high school, and those women have graduated. I have  looked so much that I actually found a woman whose name is the exact same name as mine,  first and last.

Style Me Pretty is my favorite wedding blog. It is updated frequently, and like its name suggests, has a very pretty layout. It displays weddings from all over the world, and at least half of my Pinterest originates from the site.  Weddings are even searchable by category. Barnyard elegance? Vintage garages? You can also filter by location, for instance Style Me Pretty Illinois.

Style Me Pretty has put out a guide, Style Me Pretty Weddings. This book is fantastic, because even a bride’s eyes can get tired after staring at the screen for hours looking for the right shade of champagne. It takes you step by step through wedding planning, from preparation to honeymoon. Still I have only one word of advice: Elope!
