Some books just give you the warm fuzzies. What If It's Us is the sweetest romance I've read in a long time. After Arthur and Ben meet in a New York City post office but forget to exchange numbers, they search the city until they find each other again.
Arthur and Ben will charm you for sure, but my favorite character of the year is Eric "Bitty" Bittle, a figure skater turned hockey player who bakes pies for his teammates in Check, Please!. If this adorable Southern gentleman does make you say "aww" while you're reading this graphic novel, you've got a lump of coal in your chest instead of a heart.
Speaking of characters who enjoy sweets, in American Panda, MIT freshman Mei copes with her busy class schedule and overbearing mother by indulging in her favorite beverage, hot chocolate. I totally approve of her choice. Chocolate is therapeutic.
Staying on the comfort food theme, Flavie drives a snowmobile to deliver bagels to folks in Montreal trapped in their houses during an endless snowstorm in Nuclear Winter.
Two more service workers, Kate, a maid, and Matt, a valet, fall in love during Christmastime in 1817 England in the darling historical novel Carols and Chaos.
