Caught Reading: Mother’s Day, May 2018

Getting a gift for your mom for Mother’s Day doesn’t need to be complicated, especially if she’s a book lover. Sure there are plenty of motherhood-themed novels out there, but finding the best book for her really shows that you care. Reading is a personal experience and it’s no wonder why sharing a book with your mother is special. Since Mother’s Day is coming up, it’s the perfect time to find that great read that mom will love.

I caught a reader quite buried in Hades by Candice Fox. This novel should satisfy those readers who love police procedural thrillers and especially if they were fans of Jeff Lindsay’s “ Dexter” series.

Circe, the New York Times bestselling novel and April 2018 Staff Pick was also spotted. The phenomenal novel by Madeline Miller, author of The Song of Achilles, tells the story of Circe from Greek mythology, and whether mom is a fan of the The Odyssey or not, she’ll find a satisfying story here.

Another novel engulfing it's reader was Candace Camp’s A Momentary Marriage. Lovers of historical romance will absolutely adore this book and quickly become fans of Camp.

I spotted a reader with The Magicians by Lev Grossman, a modern day story about magic in the real world. This novel was a New York Times bestseller and is currently a popular SYFY television series. Fans of magical realism, science fiction and fantasy will love this novel.

Ready Player One was well worn in the hands of one reader. A novel by Ernest Cline, it tells the story of a treasure hunt inside of a virtual reality game. After mom enjoys the novel, you can treat her to a night at the movies as this book's film adaptation was recently released in March 2018.

What will you get mom for Mother's Day?
