Kids, Write a Book Review

Have you read a great book recently? Want to tell other kids about what you read? Book reviews are a great way to share your thoughts about what you've read with other people.

Oliver, age 8, shared a review of Stick Dog with us:

This book is about a silly dog that is always trying to get food with his friends, Poo-Poo, Mutt, Karen and Stripes (who has dots, not stripes!). This book is great for kids who like to laugh. If you like this book, you may also like Stick Cat: A Tail of Two Kitties.

As you can see in Oliver's, book reviews often have two parts. In the first part, you can describe what the book is about. The second part tells other people what you thought about the book. What parts of the book did you like? What parts did you dislike? Would you recommend it to someone else?

A review of Sea Otter Heroes might start this way, including some facts about the book:

Did you know that sea otters are really important for keeping seagrass healthy? One scientist did a lot of research to figure it out. He learned a lot about sea otters and what they eat.

The next part is my opinion of the book:

I loved seeing all the pictures of otters and learning about what they ate. It was very sad to learn that they were killed for their fur, but no one does that any more. I think that people who love animals will like this book.
