Artist Statement

When I take a photograph, I'm not thinking much about a certain theme or common subjects, but rather something that strikes me as potentially historic. Not in the sense of politics, or pop culture, but more of a "I was there" kind of emotion. A lot of my images are more of a visual diary and or a hidden and anonymous letter to someone, and to no one in particular. Through my photographs, I intend for my viewers to feel the emotion that I'm trying to capture through their own personal experiences. Vivian Maier is one of my biggest inspirations, and I feel that in that way we are similar. I don’t want to be seen or noticed personally, just heard through the voice of emotion.
