Tis the season for Spring Cleaning

It's the time of year again when you start seeking opportunities to open up the windows, let the fresh air flow throughout the house and when it feels good to do some deep cleaning. If you've already started to scrubbing the walls, cleaning the dust lodged in between keys of your keyboard, wiping off juice rings from the coffee table and purging your closet of old clothes, or you are still holding off on your spring cleaning, the Chicago Public Library has some books that can help you find motivation and inspiration - no matter how big or small your spring cleaning task list is.

If you prefer to tackle your cleaning in an eco-friendly fashion, Green Cleaning for Dummies can help. This book takes you beyond the standard vinegar and baking soda tricks and offers suggestions and ideas for green cleaning which are ultimately healthier for your indoor environment by emitting less VOCs and healthier for the outdoor environment as well.

Real Simple Cleaning is loaded with tips and tricks for cleaning everything from your fridge to your bathroom to how to clean different types of floor surfaces. Ever wonder which tools or products are best for the job? This book will certainly have your answers!

My personal favorite, Cleaning is chock full of ideas, tips and tricks for cleaning virtually every surface inside and outside your home. For ideas on how to clean your curling iron or audio speakers to suggestions for keeping uninvited creepy crawlies at bay, Donna Smallin has got you covered in this book. There are even cleaning suggestions and suggested cleaning routines for dual-career families that keep hectic schedules, pet-owners and allergy sufferers. Unpretentious and loaded with practical and applicable advice, the tips and tricks found in this book help make cleaning that much easier.

That said, I am looking forward to finishing up my Spring Cleaning and reaping the benefits of a squeaky clean house.
