Soon to Be Famous Illinois Author Project Seeks Submissions from Local Authors

The Soon to Be Famous Illinois Author Project was created in 2013 to help local authors reach a greater audience through the power of libraries. Any Illinois-based author with a self-published adult fiction novel is encouraged to apply for the 2016 prize. The winning author will receive publicity from libraries across the state, and their book will be included in the Chicago Public Library’s collection.

Applications are being accepted through January 4, 2016 at CPL and other libraries throughout the state. More information on how to apply can be found on the Soon to Be Famous website.

2015 winner Michael Alan Peck spoke Friday, October 16 at Harold Washington Library Center about self-publishing with branding expert David Vinjamuri. Peck is the author of The Journeyman. 2014 winner Joanne Zienty’s book, The Things We Save, is also available at CPL.
