Teens Outside the Margins: Exploring Inclusion & Diversity in Library Services to Teens

Do you work with teens? Join us for our 2015 teen services conference, Teens Outside the Margins: Exploring Inclusion & Diversity in Library Services to Teens.

Our day of professional development will provide information, support and inspiration for public librarians, school librarians, reading specialists, counselors, mentors and other educators who work in both in-school and out-of-school learning environments with some of the most marginalized teens in the city.

Hear Jonathan Friesen, internationally acclaimed speaker and award-winning author (Find his books at CPL.), and participate in several interactive, breakout sessions on topics such as refugees and new immigrants to the city; supporting self-determination skills for diverse learners; as well as services for LGBTQ and homeless youth.

If you have any questions or concerns about registering for the event, please email teen services or call Robin Willard at (312) 745-3941.

Presented by Chicago Public Library Teen Services in partnership with Chicago Public Schools’ Department of Literacy: Libraries with gratitude to the MacArthur Foundation through the Chicago Public Library Foundation.
