Teen Information Smart Project

Finding quality information takes practice! Now through December 11, our teen services staff are seeking contacts in Chicago-area high schools to host or help co-present 35-minute Information Smart lessons related to critical thinking skills.

This exciting fall initiative helps teens answer one of two life-changing questions:

  • Should I go to college?
  • What should I study?

In this workshop teens participate in mini-challenges, such as working in small groups and performing skits, to determine if information is complete, accurate or biased while measuring the value of the information. Please email teen services for more details.

The Information Smart project is part of an outreach partnership between Chicago Public Library and Chicago Public Schools made possible with thanks to grant consultation from Elizabeth Romero, PhD, and funding and support from the McCormick Tribune Foundation through the Chicago Public Library Foundation.
