On the Money Showcase Event

Over fifty people attended the On the Money (OTM) showcase event this month, presented in partnership by Chicago Public Library’s Teen Services Dept. with Economic Awareness Council. The program featured at a teen peer share event during which OTM interns shared their knowledge gained over the semester, including marketing and fundraising for publishing. Students from Sandoval Elementary shared information about their STEM grant projected related to bottle gardens and Community Christian Alternative Academy (CCA) shared their Paperworks!, soap and aquaponic projects.

In addition, special guest panel speakers included Clare Johnston Kunkel, President of Milagros, who talked about entrepreneurship and her efforts to support young women in Guatemala. Then Adi Redzic, Executive Director of IoMeChallenge.org, spoke about immigrating to Chicago, his will to succeed and the importance of financial health with teens at On the Money, presented by Chicago Public Library and Economic Awareness Council.
