Greg Borzo on RAGBRAI, America’s Favorite Bicycle Ride

Popular Chicago writer Greg Borzo joins us to discuss his latest book, RAGBRAI: America's Favorite Bicycle Ride, at 6 p.m. Thursday, February 27 at the Harold Washington Library Center. RAGBRAI Director T.J. Juskiewicz will join Borzo for the discussion.

Launched as a lark in 1973, RAGBRAI, the Register’s Annual Great Bike Ride Across Iowa, has developed into the world’s largest, longest and oldest bicycle touring event. Thousands of bicyclists from all 50 states and dozens of countries ride across Iowa every July for this weeklong festival.

Borzo, author of the popular The Chicago "L", has gathered hundreds of stories that reveal the essence of this unique event. He also has gathered a lavish collection of photographs—vintage and contemporary, most never published before—that illustrate RAGBRAI’s kaleidoscopic character.

The author will sign books after the program; books will be for sale.

Seating is limited and is first come, first served.
