CPL Launches Kids Vocabulary-Building Program

Today we launched Words to Grow On Chicago, a vocabulary-building initiative funded by PNC Bank.

Words to Grow On Chicago focuses on the importance of rich language exposure to help children gain vocabulary and develop curiosity to learn about the world around them. Branches served by this two-year initiative are Kelly, Little Village, Lozano, Sherman Park, Toman and West Englewood.

This program is a unique collaboration between Chicago Public Library, Metropolitan Family Services and El Valor to promote early literacy and learning for families with young children in communities served by these agencies.
