Bikes and Dinosaurs at the Maker Lab

We have three drop-ins coming up in the Maker Lab—that's where you stop by and make something on the fly, no registration required.

On Wednesday, January 21, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., get 3D scanned in the lobby at the Harold Washington Library Center. We use an infrared camera to do a scan from the shoulders up. Then we'll save your file so you can take it to the Maker Lab and print out a bust 1/10th your size, for free.

On Saturday, January 24, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., stop by and Make Art for the Bike Winter Art Show. Special thanks to Corina for asking us to host the bike-themed art-making! Bring some materials, bring some ideas and work together or individually.

On Saturday, January 31, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., Family Day returns with some Cretaceous templates to laser your name on. Family Days are an opportunity for an adult and child to work together to create a personalized key chain or pendant. Pick your dinosaur, name it and pick a color of acrylic to cut it from. It's one dinosaur per child, and the child must be present.
