Book Title: Get Well Soon

Author: Julie Halpern

Review:
Get Well Soon bookThis book is truly genius, at least in my opinion, and is relatable to any teen going through hard times with their parents, school, and awkwardness with boys/girls. When I picked up this book I thought it was going to be about some kid who probably gets really sick and eventually recovers - I was wrong. The main character, Ana, is a junior in high school and loves the band The Ramones and her Converse shoes. She is having some personal problems that she can’t talk to her parents about. Her parents think she is having some serious problems, so they sent her to a counselor who recommends that Ana to a hospital where they would "help" her. During all this, Ana is having her conversations with herself while writing to one of her friends through letters that she is not able to mail. Even though the book has some profanity, it shows all the different moods and feelings of Ana. While in this "loony bin" she encounters the silliest rules ever made and is beginning to notice a certain boy. I ended up reading this book in two days. I just couldn't stop reading! I would recommend this book to any teen and assure you that the ending does not disappoint. Combine humor, sadness, happiness, seriousness, and flirtatious thoughts and actions to get one of the best books I have read in a long time.
