Review:

Have you ever wanted to be a hero? Well in the book
Three Cups of Tea by Greg Mortenson and David Oliver Relin, Greg gets a chance to live this dream by becoming a hero to thousands of people in Afghanistan and Pakistan. Greg left America to climb the second largest mountain in the world called K2, but when he got there, he ended up changing the world instead. The story begins when Greg become lost trying to find his way back down the mountain after one of his climbing partners becomes ill. He wanders into the town of Korphe and is warmly welcomed into the home of the village chief. Moved by their hospitality, Greg promises to return and build the village a school so the classes won’t be held outside. When he returns to America, Greg raises money for the school. After he has raised enough, he goes back to Korphe but he is asked by the village chief to build a bridge over the dangerous Braldu River first. So Greg must go back to America to raise money for the bridge. When he returns, he builds the school and the bridge. Having found his life’s work, Greg starts the Central Asia Institute and builds more than 60 schools around Afghanistan and Pakistan. I think this is great book for anyone who enjoys adventure so read this book to find out how to go from stranger, to friend, to family by sharing three cups of tea.
