Book Title: A Mango-Shaped Space

Review:I loved this book. In it a girl named Mia has a condition called synesthesia which makes every letter, number and sound associate with a color. Between making new friends, finding out more about her condition (even if it is boring seminars), people making her feel like a freak, and her first love, she barely realizes her cat, Mango, is getting sick. The cat is a reminder of her grandfather, a very important person in her life who passed away. In this book Wendy Mass captures sorrow and the thoughts of "if only I had..." in a brilliantly witty, yet tearful experience of a girl who wishes the word “freak” were not in the English language.
