In
The Battle of the Labyrinth, the 4th book in the
Percy Jackson series, Percy must find a great inventor hidden in the Labyrinth, which he built, to save camp Half-Blood from an army of monsters. The labyrinth is so extremely dangerous that even Satyrs (part goat, part human woodland creatures) will not search there for Pan, the god of the wild. With Grover’s searchers license about to expire, he searches for Pan (guess where!) in the Labyrinth. This series is a great twist on roman mythology that I would recommend for any one. A movie is coming out for the first book, so they might do the whole series. If you like action books that still have a really good story, you’ve probably read this by now. The only annoying parts are that some things with the gods and monsters are confusing, but it’s generally described very well. This is NOT a series where you can just pick up the 3rd book without reading the first and second books. You don’t need to know about mythology to start reading this series; you can have no idea what a drakon (not dragon, drakon, they’re different) or what a hellhound is, or what the Mist is, the book explains it all. This book is a must read.
