Milton Rogovin, now 97, has dedicated his life’s work to enabling people to see more clearly—as an optometrist, a political activist and a photographer. The Storefront Churches series launched Rogovin’s career as a social documentary photographer. This project began in 1958 and continued for four years. Rogovin consulted the preeminent historian W.E.B. DuBois about his project and DuBois penned the introduction to Milton’s first article in Aperture magazine in 1962.
