Kraft Great Kids Kidsmobile
The Kraft Great Kids Kidsmobile, a partnership between the Chicago Public Library and the Chicago Park District, travels throughout Chicago from June through August to bring the Summer Learning Challenge to 24 unstaffed parks/playlots. Trained Chicago Public Library interns partner with Chicago Park District interns to deliver reading, fitness, nature and art activities as well as Summer Reading Program books and materials. Activities include reading, book reporting, story programs, crafts, weekly raffles and book bags. (Children ages 3-8 who read 25 books and ages 9-14 who read 10 books earn a book bag or backpack.)
The Kidsmobile visits each park/playlot twice each week for about two hours.
