For Me, For You, For Later
This program ended in September 2013.
For Me, For You, For Later was an initiative developed by Sesame Workshop in partnership with PNC Grow Up Great to enhance young children’s understanding of basic financial concepts.
Between January 2012 and September 2013, three-part story hour programs were conducted focusing on the three “S’s” of early financial literacy:
- With additional concepts Choice and Value
These story hours were offered at outreach groups and participating libraries, serving children ages 3 to 5. Children who completed the three-part story hour programs received a free paperback book.
Financial education programs for families were also offered at participating libraries in the form of:
- Parent workshops
- Community resource fairs
These programs helped families learn how to engage in money discussions with their young children. To support families’ efforts, participating libraries have collections of picture books highlighting saving, spending and sharing.
- Budlong Woods
- Garfield Ridge
- Greater Grand Crossing
- Lincoln Belmont
- Mount Greenwood
- West Town
For Me, For You, For Later was made possible by a generous grant from PNC Grow Up Great through the Chicago Public Library Foundation.
