Programs
For Me, For You, For Later
For Me, For You, For Later is an initiative developed by Sesame Workshop in partnership with PNC Grow Up Great to enhance young children’s understanding of basic financial concepts.
Beginning in January 2012, three-part story hour programs will be conducted focusing on the three “S’s” of early financial literacy:
- Spending
- Saving
- Sharing
- With additional concepts Choice and Value
These story hours will be offered at outreach groups and participating libraries, serving children ages 3 to 5. Children who complete three-part story hour programs will receive a free paperback book.
Financial education programs for families will also be offered at participating libraries in the form of:
- Parent workshops
- Community resource fairs
These programs will help families learn how to engage in money discussions with their young children. To support families’ efforts, participating libraries have collections of picture books highlighting saving, spending and sharing.
Participating libraries:
- Budlong Woods
- Dunning
- Garfield Ridge
- Greater Grand Crossing
- Hall
- Lincoln Belmont
- Mount Greenwood
- Walker
- West Town
For Me, For You, For Later is made possible by a generous grant from PNC Grow Up Great through the Chicago Public Library Foundation.
