Asian/Pacific American Heritage Month
Join the Chicago Public Library in Celebrating Diversity in 2010 with its annual May observance of Asian/Pacific American Heritage Month. For this celebration, which was established to recognize Asians and Pacific Islanders and their contributions to the United States, the Chicago Public Library will be offering a variety of programs throughout the month that highlight the visual arts of Asian/Pacific American cultures.
In the Asian/Pacific American Heritage Month's opening program on May 1st, special attention will be given to the musical and artistic contributions of Asian cultures. Other highlights for the month include henna painting, origami activities, and book discussions.
