It’s summertime again in the Land of Lincoln! What better time to relax with a good book and learn more about Honest Abe?
Illinois’ own Abraham Lincoln is given presidential treatment as the Chicago Public Library, in partnership with the Chicago History Museum and other Chicago cultural institutions presents Land of Lincoln Readers: Summer Reads for Adults, our third annual summer reading program designed for adults. Come celebrate Lincoln’s 200th birthday by reading interesting books about his life and times, or join your neighbors for fun, informative programs that show how the contributions of ordinary Americans, under great leadership, once transformed our nation in ways both great and small.
So grab your library card and head to your local library! Then use your time on the bus, at the beach, or in your own backyard to read, learn, and discover more about Abraham Lincoln, and the legacy he left for us all.
