DESCRIPTION:<p>The first Hispanic and third woman appointed to the United States Supreme Court, <strong>Sonia Sotomayor</strong> has become an instant American icon. Now, with a candor and intimacy never undertaken by a sitting Justice, she recounts her life from a Bronx housing project to the U.S. Supreme Court in&nbsp;<em><strong><a href='http://www.chipublib.org/search/details/cn/8662995' title='My Beloved World in CPL catalog'>My Beloved World</a></strong></em>. The journey recounted in this memoir offers testament to her own extraordinary determination and the power of believing in oneself.​<br><br><strong>Event Details<br></strong>Justice Sotomayor appears in the Winter Garden, located on the 9th floor.&nbsp; Seating is available when the Winter Garden opens at 4:30 p.m.&nbsp; Guests arriving&nbsp;prior to&nbsp;4:30 p.m. will line up in the first floor Congress Corridor, where free tickets will be available beginning at 4 p.m., <em>first come, first served</em> and one ticket per person.&nbsp; When the 500-seat Winter Garden fills, guests will be seated in the ninth floor South Hall, a 200-seat overflow space into which the event will be streamed live.&nbsp; Justice Sotomayor&rsquo;s book&nbsp;will be available for purchase and she will only autograph copies of&nbsp;<em>My&nbsp;Beloved World</em>&nbsp;at the conclusion of the program.&nbsp; No other memorabilia or items will be autographed.&nbsp; Photography and recording devices are not allowed.</p>
