DESCRIPTION:Gerry Souter discusses and signs copies of his new book titled <em><a href='http://www.chipublib.org/search/details/cn/8654912' title='American Shooter in CPL Catalog'>American Shooter: A Personal History of Gun Culture in the United States</a></em>.<br><br>Mr. Souter, a Mount Prospect resident, takes a personal look at gun ownership, handgun bans, shooting sports and the controversy over how to interpret the Second Amendment from the point of view of a liberal gun owner and enthusiast.&nbsp; Souter and his wife, Janet, have authored or co-authored more than 40 nonfiction books on history, biography, art and other topics.<br><br>This event is presented by the <a href='http://www.midlandauthors.com/' title='Society of Midland Authors'>Society of Midland Authors</a>, an organization established in 1915 for published authors in the Midwest.&nbsp; The Chicago Public Library is pleased to co-host this event.<br><br>Seating is available first come, first served.&nbsp;&nbsp;Reservations are not required.&nbsp;&nbsp;Books are&nbsp;available for purchase and Mr. Souter will autograph books at the conclusion of the program.
