SUMMARY:Chicago Public Library Event - Leopold Group Previews
DESCRIPTION:
The Leopold Group, a newly established modern dance company, will return to the Harold Washington Library for a lecture/demonstration. Artistic Director, Lizzie Leopold, will preview three world premier works alongside composer Christian Matjias and singer/songwriter Brian Mazzaferri. The first work, Too Much, Too Soon, is set to a selection of Bach Goldberg variations and danced in tutus. The second work will be, as yet untitled, a collaboration between Matjias and Leopold inspired by the biblical story of Jacob wrestling an angel. Lastly, the program will preview Of Mind & Sky, with Mazzaferri’s songs, often described as a mix of Bob Dylan and Joni Mitchell. These works and two others will be officially premiered on June 27 & 29 at the Harold Washington Library. For ticket information on the June 27 & 29 programs please visit, www.leopoldgroup.org or call (847) 702-5493.
