Kevin Phillips, former White House strategist and author of the bestsellers, American Theocracy and American Dynasty, will discuss and sign his new book, Bad Money: Reckless Finance, Failed Politics and the Global Crisis of American Capitalism. In it, Phillips describes the consequences of our misguided economic policies, our mounting debt, collapsing housing market, threatened oil and the end of American domination of world markets. He investigates how our global overreach and worn-out politics have pointed U.S. capitalism toward a global crisis and what the new administration must do to reverse the tide.
This lecture is presented as part of the Albert Pick Jr. Fund International Relations Project at the Chicago Public Library, through a grant to the Chicago Public Library Foundation.
