DESCRIPTION:The Chicago Public Library welcomes back award-winning author Julia Alvarez to read from, discuss and sign <em>Return to Sender</em>, her new book for young adults.&nbsp; <br><br><em>Return to Sender</em> is the story of a young boy, Tyler, whose family hires Mexican migrant workers to work on their Vermont farm.&nbsp; Tyler has many questions about this family, especially the oldest daughter Mari, who is proud of her Mexican heritage but increasingly connected to her American life.&nbsp; Can Tyler and Mari find a way to be friends despite their differences?<br><br>Ms. Alvarez is the author of several acclaimed novels for young readers, including <em>How Tia Lola Came to Visit.</em>&nbsp; Her books for adults include the Fall 2004 One Book, One Chicago selection, <em>In The Time of the Butterflies</em>.&nbsp; Books will be available for purchase at the event from Magic Tree Bookstore.
