Join us as bestselling author Sapphire converses with Alexis Pride, novelist and Director of Graduate Programs at Columbia College Chicago, to discuss and sign copies of her novel Push. Push tells the story of an illiterate, brutalized Harlem teenager, won numerous literary awards and was the source for the noted 2009 movie Precious: Based on the Novel 'Push' by Sapphire.

Famed in the worlds of literature, poetry and literacy--and an extraordinary public speaker--Sapphire is first and foremost a poet and performer.
