SUMMARY:Chicago Public Library Event - Classic Book Discussion
DESCRIPTION:
The novel Every Man Dies Alone is the tragic story of a German couple who tries to resist the fascist government after the death of their son. The author, Hans Fallada was one of the few writers who refused to leave Germany during the Nazi regime. As he stated “I cannot write in any other country than my own”. He suffered under Hitler's government, but managed to survive the war only to die of heart failure shortly afterwards. Join us for a discussion of the novel that asks the question, 'What would you have done?'
