Join us as we discuss Incidents in the Life of a Slave Girl by Harriet Jacobs. Few accounts of American slavery are as harrowing as Jacob's autobiography which reveals the unique suffering of enslaved women. Betsy Means of WomanLore will read excerpts from the book and present her research on Jacobs, the only female slave to write her story prior to the Civil War.
