In the waning days of the Weimar Republic, crime reporter Hannah Vogel spots a photograph of her brother, a crossdressing lounge singer, on the Wall of the Unclaimed Dead at the Berlin Alexanderplatz police station. Hannah searches the Berlin underworld for her brother's killer assisted by her lover, Boris, and Anton, a 5 year old waif who claims to be her brother's child.
