About this event:

Join storyteller Lynn Rymarz for the story of Geraldine Hoff Doyle, the image behind the iconic poster of Rosie the Riveter, 'We Can Do It!'  Hear how this glamour girl went to work in a factory at the age of 17 to support the war effort during WWII.  Learn about some of the other real life 'Rosies' who stepped out of their traditional roles to go to work during this historical era.  Step back in time to discover their joys, their hardships and their struggles.  The parallel story of the life and times of a Jewish teenage girl, named Millie Werber, from the ghetto in Poland is also woven into the presentation.  Hear her story of going to work in a factory to support the Nazi war effort.  Her memoir, Two Rings: A Story of Love and War, will be included.  For 6th grade to adults.
