About this event:

Jan and Antonina Zabinski were the head Polish zookeepers of the Warsaw Zoo.  Horrified by Nazi atrocities, they used their resourcefulness and courageously turned this devastated zoo into a refuge which helped to save the lives of several hundred Jews and members of the Polish Resistance.
