Program: Summer Reads for Adults
About this event:
Vermicomposting is the practice of using worms to turn organic food waste into a nutrient-rich soil instead of sending it to a landfill, where it can react to create greenhouse gases. In this hands-on workshop, learn the basics of this easy way to compost in an urban setting where outdoor compost bins may not be practical. Families welcome!
Presented in partnership with Department of Environment's Chicago Conservation Corps.
