About this event:
Celebrate African American Heritage Month with this program about West Side blues artist Larry Hill Taylor. Meet Mr. Taylor and Bonnie McKeown, the co-author of his biography Stepson of the Blues: A Chicago Song of Survival. In this talk, the authors will describe Taylor's remarkable life growing up in Chicago and the challenges of African American musicians gaining recognition in today's economy. The program includes a performance of Taylor's blues music. Copies of the book will be available for purchase and signing.
