About this event:
Mary Russell and Gerard Wozek will debut their new poetry video, The Book of Green, which entices the viewer to develop a closer relationship with the forces of nature as it reveals elements involved in the process of nature journaling. They will also present several student poetry videos reflecting on themes of nature.
Mary Russell is a Chicago-based artist and full time instructor at Robert Morris College. She received her MFA from the School of the Art Institute, and for the past decade, she has collaborated with poet Gerard Wozek on video poems which have screened at numerous conferences in the United States and at festivals abroad.
Gerard Wozek received his MA in Writing and Rhetoric from DePaul University and teaches creative writing and the humanities full time at Robert Morris College. His first book of Poetry, Dervish, won the Gival Press Poetry Award, and his most recent book of short fiction and travel tales, Postcards from Heartthrob Town (2007), has been nominated for a Lambda Literary Award. With artist Mary Russell, he has produced award-winning video poems.
