About this event:
In this workshop, participants will work together to adapt classic poems for ensemble performance. Using group performance exercises and demonstration of technique, participants will be introduced to basic poetic interpretation for the stage. Particpants should come prepared to move and work collaboratively. No prior performance or poetic interpretation experience is required.
Coya Paz is the co-Artistic Director of Teatro Luna and a doctoral candidate in the Department of Performance Studies at Northwestern University. She is an accomplished poet, performer, and director whose work has been featured in the New York Times, American Theater Magazine, Theater Journal, Latina Magazine, the Chicago Tribune, and the Chicago Sun Times, among others. She recently directed Machos, now touring nationally, and is currently working with the Guild Complex as the theatrical director, of their Poetry/Performance Incubation Project.
