Program: Children’s Summer Reading Program

About this event:
For over 1,500 years the folk tradition and intricate, lacy art of paper-cutting has been a popular art form in China.  Join award-winning artist, Mr. Wang Li, visiting the Chicago Public Library direct from Beijing, China this summer as he demonstrates this rare folk art and teaches kids to create their own paper-cuts on real Chinese red paper.  Accompanied by Z.J. Tong, Director of the Chicago Chinese Cultural Institute, kids learn hands-on about the history of this endangered and beautiful art form.

Program is for children ages 7 and up. (Note: All children under 7 must be accompanied by an adult).

Audience limit is 30, registration is required.
