Rubik's Cube Competition

Date: Sat. July 17, 2010

Time: 9:30 am - 4:30 pm

Location:
Bucktown-Wicker Park
1701 N. Milwaukee Avenue
60647

About this event:
Speedcubing is solving the Rubik's Cube as fast as you can. We'll have competitions for all cube sizes (the original cube is 3X3X3, but they also come in 2X2, 4X4, 5X5, 6X6 and 7X7). There will also be 3X3X3 one-handed and 3X3X3 blindfolded events!  All events are sanctioned by the World Cube Association, and use the WCA competition regulations.  If you've never competed in a WCA event before, we recommend you visit the Competitor Tutorial.

Can you solve a Rubik's cube but don't feel that you're fast enough to compete? Compete anyway! Lots of people participate just to get an official time, and then work to beat their own time.

Can’t solve a cube? Stop by to watch the speedcubers compete - all of the competitors are impressive we think, but blindfolded?!?  Amazing!  There will also be lots of demo puzzles and brainteasers out to play with. Door prize giveaways all day long.

This competition is sponsored by Cat & Mouse Game Store.

Registration:
All events are free, but you do need to register in order to compete in the events.  For a list of events and to register, go to http://www.cubingusa.com/cat-n-mouse/register.phpRegistration closes on July 12th.
