About this event:
Experience what dance writer Sid Smith (Chicago Tribune) dubbed 'smart work and crisp onstage talent'. An innovative new contributor to Chicago's cultural landscape, DanceWorks Chicago (DWC) is committed to building a foundation for the individual artistic growth of dancers and choreographers, providing a laboratory from which early career artists propel themselves and the art form to a new level through training, collaboration, mentorship, and performance.
DWC will present Alex Ketley's dance 'If Ever (an Ocean) Relinquished' in a preview of the upcoming Eat to the Beat lunchtime series finale at the Harris Theater which will unveil a new soundscape selected via an open call to Chicago area artists. The presentation will be led by DWC Artistic Director Julie Nakagawa and include DWC repertory as well as an opportunity to connect with DWC's uniquely-gifted dancers in a post-performance talk.
