About this event:
The Teen Volume Conference is an annual professional in-service day presented in partnership by the Chicago Public Library and Chicago Public Schools, with funding from both the City of Chicago and Chicago Public Library Foundation.
This conference, which is open to librarians who serve teens in high school in Chicago, will feature the keynote speaker Dr. Sheryl Feinstein, will focus on teen brains, their construction as well as their ongoing transformations during adolescence. Chicago Public Library and Digital Youth Network staff will also present the YOUmedia Project, tour YOUmedia and discuss how media and technology are being used to appeal to teen’s different learning styles, and engage them with library programs and collections; and partners from the Chicago Out-of-School-Time Project will talk about the hierarchy of needs that have been identified as essential in adolescent environments.
