About this event:
Through a hands-on and high-tech walking tour, participants will join experienced Geocachers (treasure-hunters who use Global Positioning System devices) in a hunt to rediscover 1909 Chicago. Using handheld GPS units (provided at the program by Science Chicago), participants will tour several historic spots that Daniel Burnham used to create the Plan of Chicago while hunting for clues to enhance this journey through time. This high-tech walking tour will give you a better understanding of the foundations of modern day Chicago along and how the 21st century skill of Global Positioning works.
Registration:
For teens ages fourteen-up, parents and educators.
Pre-registration is required and attendance is limited to
36 participants per a program. Please call 312-747-4780 for more information and/or to register.
Field trip forms are necessary for all program participants and
must be signed by a parent and/or guardian for all teens under
the age 18.
