About this event:
What lead to the Obama phenomenon? The Chicago Public Library and the Freedom Museum present Jabari Asim, editor of NAACP's The Crisis magazine, who will discuss his new book, What Obama Means:...For Our Culture, Our Politics, Our Future.  Join us for a sharp analysis on what led to President Obama's phenomenal rise in both politics and popular culture.  Asim will explain how Obama's very ascendance into the political mainstream is a watershed moment with far reaching implications beyond his election as President.  Celebrate African American Heritage Month with the Chicago Public Library and Freedom Museum for a historic, timely discussion.
