Curious about quilting? Expert quilter Colette Cogley offers an overview of what’s involved in making a quilt beginning with piecing the patchwork top by machine in this demo class. Beginning with a brief discussion on the basics including color and fabric selection, the class will also cover template and rotary cutting and sewing the patchwork using both a strip piecing method as well as simple block construction.
A cutting and sewing station will be set up for anyone who wants to experience some hands-on work.
Required: must be age 14 or older; Chicago residents must have a Chicago Public Library card; others must present a photo ID.
Please note that this program does not use the Maker Lab Machines.
Please be on time. No participants will be admitted later than 5 minutes after class has started.
